An actual e-mail I received from a new member on our forums and a new player to our server and TFC in general:

Hey chip how are you? First things first, Your server
kicks ass! I've been playing tfc for about 2 months
and the last half has been on your server. I under
stand that puts me in the "noobie" class and I'm cool
with that, but that brings me to my point.In my short
time playing on your server i have been dogged alot
for doing stupid stuff.(exp) Not knowing were the flag
goes,getting lost,and my favorite binding a key to the
"kamikaze"command and accidentally pushing it while in
my own base. I know most of it is all in good fun.I'm
not a snitch so I will not use names but sometimes
your MORE ELITE USERS will take to the name calling
game(exp)"dumb ass""idiot"too just name a couple. I do
not think this is a good way to get users to stick
around.I think you and your friends made the server to
have fun and goof off. not to do serious military
training.This will not detour me from playing but it
may others.I just thought you may take a chance to
remind EVERYONE that this is a place to come and meet
people and have a laugh or two and have fun. Not to
show people how big of a ass you can be. Thanks for
your time and keep making the kick ass servers.

I will not give out this or any other players name...there's no need in this case. What there is a need for is to remind peeps that the way people are treated on our server is important to both myself and our community. If nothing else, we're known for being friendly, accepting, fun loving people...in general. Helping out newer players should be part of showing who we are and what we're about. Shame on those who treat anyone in this matter. I'll be on the lookout for who these people are and I'll be quick to show them the door.

Wait...we're not doing serious miltary training? Why have I wasted my time here!?

The most I've seen is people yelling at new peopel for not knowing where to take the flag. They really shouldn't be because they haven't seen the map before and I know I've gotten lost in new maps. And everyone's finger slips...I do that ALL the time when I play CS:S.

i even seen a lot of this going on the server even if i haven't been around here that much but i still play and i see ppl screaming at noobs and everything else they do u say this is a pub but ppl dont care they still think this is like military training they dont under stand the rules well as i said when this server started we need a admin that is mostly on all the time. the sever would go out of control and then ppl would start to quit or spectate ( i wont tell u ppl who the person is). i just think there should be a admin on most of the time.and that u some of u ppl should treat noobs easier not yelling st them until they get it done or right. i have a friend who plays CS he is a noob but i dont yell at him i mean if he does something wrong and i try to tell him what to do and he still doesn't get it i would do it for him and see if u would do it then or i would show the way to go.

I agree with keeping everything in good fun, but let's not turn into Axl's here...

rite then wait ten minutes then there would be no fun trying to go into the base and take the flag

I was helping a noobie today... it was fun... Me and Bonsai showed him the solly ropes =D

This is a pub...everything is allowed, except outright cheating...final.
If someone wants to DM in the yard...fine. That is not against our rules and I will not stand for anyone telling someone not to...or how they must play. Any play style is tolerated here...and that's that.

Now...if ALL on the server agree to a certain style or set of rules they wish to play by...that's fine. But if someone disagrees or someone new enters the game, they are free to do what they wish...those are our rules. We have a large number of truly skilled players now that we didn't have before. These players are well above the skill level of the average player here and will not dictate how this server is run.

I'm tired of hearing "turn off the bots"..."turn off the hook"..."stop with the fireworks". The answer from now on wil be NO.

Background...for those who don't understand the nature of the above post:
The radios were turned off on the server tonight because NO ONE on blue team was playing TFC...they were farting around with the radios. Chaos and I were being seriously mauled by our opponents...no one else on our team seemed to care.

Any play style is tolerated here...that's what I've said. Problem is, you and many others weren't playing. That is "play detrimental to your team"...which is against our rules. And our rule about the radios: "IF they become a distraction to the game, they will be turned off."

For both of these reasons, the radios were turned off...and justly so.
