all it takes to be in the top ranks is to play D all the tiem as well as sniper and HW.
i'm around rank 300 but have most likely capped more times than the top 10 combined |

Depends on what you play for . . .
I could give a crap about my score. It's a moderately good indicator of your skill level, but you could play D and duck back into respawn every time you take a hit to health, run up your score and really do very little for your team.
I play for my team to win.
Like my profile says, if I go 1 kill 75 death and we win by one cap (and I helped my team, not just ran around like a professional victim), then I beat the 40 and 1 sniper or solly who played D for score.
I love getting between my flag carrier and the person chasing them. I love defending my dropped flag on a big open field knowing I'm gonna die but slow down the other team. I love getting killed five times in a row making a long, dangerous run for the NME flag, but taking out an SG and conc'ing a defender every time, while my teammates move in for the flag, then lying there dead after the fifth run and hearing:
Your team has captured the enemy flag
I think, because of my attitude, I'm one of the best players in the game. |

I agree entirely with you (except the concing the defenders part, it can be a bad habit)
if i was worried about my score, id go sniper and whine about it whenever someone kills me (which is why i purposefully kill snipers whenever its convient) however, in order to contribute to your team you need some skill yourself, right? the basics - hh, bhop, conc aim... and such. |
