Go old school...like me. Cool

Deep Purple, Edgar Winter Group...are two of my favorites that were "big", but not as popular as The Who, Stones, Zeppelin...etc.

Others that were not that "big"...but had their followings: Uriah Heep, Rare Earth.

Download some samples...check em out. Good Idea

Check out Tegan and Sara.

I read an article in a magazine (forgot which one) which listed them as one of ten "best bands you've never heard of". I checked out the other nine, and they all should stay unheard. These twin sisters are very cool chicks.

See if you can find "You Went Away" or "I Bet It Stung" on a download site. They're not for everybody, but they've got attitude. They're touring with The Killers, which I saw somebody else mention above (at least I think I saw that - I get hit in the head a lot!).

Peace~

I was impressed by the 30 seconds to mars album. Alice in Chains is always great Rock & Roll. There is this one band which isn't well known called Jimmie's Chicken Shack that is very solid. It's kinda like stoner rock, but like I said, solid band. If you want instrumental rock check out Joe Satriani, one of my all time favs ever!!!!! My favorite progressive rock band is called Porcupine Tree, they've been around for about 20 years almost I believe. There is another band I listen to, that did the first single for the first spider man movie called Revis. Their single for that movie was called "Caught in the Rain" and suprisingly their album was not bad at all. I eventually found it on sale for like $4. Solid Band. Slightly Stoopid is another stoner rock band, but very solid. I could give you a ton of very good metal references, but you said you were into more rock, so this is as far as I can go I guess lol.
