My compy is working again(I wiped the harddrive). And after 3 tries to get windows installed I have gotten it to work. But there is a catch that sucks @$$: I HAVE NO SOUND! Yeah my compy thinks it has no sound hardware/drivers. Chips, i demand you rectify this situation post-haste!  |

Getting your operating system up and working is only the tip of the iceberg. You have to install the latest drivers for all your hardware.
What OS are you using and what sound card do you have? Have you loaded the latest drivers for it? |

demasu>> is it mainboard integrated sound? run the CD that came w/ your mainboard.
is it a soundcard? run the cd that came w/ it.
or download drivers |

It's an integrated soundboard and XP just can't find it  I've ordered a cd with the basic drivers for everything that came with the system(no other way couldn't find anything but updates for it on the web) so it should be a few days until I can hear again. I might get on but remember that I can't hear so type to me(you will actually be able to kill me now that I can't hear ) |

| I'd think the manufacturer of your mb would have drivers on their site. That's why I always stick with intel mb's. Good support. |

asus gives good support, theres prolly 3 or more bois revisions that i should apply to my mobo since i got version 1.

| yea i have to admit that Asus does have really good support. That is what i had as my last board but had to upgrade so i left it in my old comp and just went out and built myself a whole new comp. |
