yo. i use stripper 2 as detailed here http://www.planethalflife.com/botman/stripper2.shtml and would like to add some permanent decals to the walls of maps (it works) but i need to know the exact origin of walls.. having a bit of trouble doing that.. iv tried typing status in the console at doing it that way.. but when i add it to make the decals on that map, no luck Crying or Very sad anyone know how to find the exact origin of the walls on maps? ty

I've always wanted to try that. I downloaded it ages ago. I made armor, ammo and dispensers with the CfH logo...and wanted to use them on my server. Just never got around to it.

I think the player model can't get closer then 50 units from a wall. Try status a little away from the wall, go up to the wall and status again, look at the number that changed when you moved closer to the wall. add/subtract 50(did the number get bigger then add got smaller than subtract). That should get the origin on the wall.

Well...we already run enough crap on the server which is most likely the cause of all the "steam rolls". The research I've been doing lately tells me we have too many plug-ins and mods running...and the old hl1 engine can't handle what we're already putting it through.

Not only can't we add more...some things are more than likely gonna have to go. Surprised

how many add-ons do you run on the server i can only think of a few and there not always ON there usually disabled...

ex.
    fireworks - disabled
    hook - disabled
    radio
    sank sounds
    chicken
    roll the dice

As you see...there's a difference between a mod and a plug-in. I've heard of servers that run over 40 plug-ins with no problems, probably because they don't run as many mods. It's our combination of mods and plug-ins that overload the amount of data the server can process; causing an overflow and the mass kicking of players to accomodate what the server "can" process...or, handle.

well i see a few you can get rid of that arnt used all to often and yes i was thinking of the wrong thing, Embarassed

get rid of the glow thing, i mean 1 out of every 10 use it? lol
chicken isnt used all to often
list map? i mean most of the maps are common
roll the dice, just used to cheat on ad maps

The glow plugin is part of the base adminmod installation...I just customized it to include more colors.
Chickenizing isn't used all that often...so I doubt it's a strain on the server.
We have 285 maps on the server...I'd be lost (so would everyone else) without the listallmaps plug-in.
Roll the dice...eh...wouldn't be much "fun" without it.

I'm looking strongly at getting rid of statsme...by far, I feel the biggest drain on server resources. Calculating and tracking every kill as it's made...that's alot of crunching. However, it's also responsible for the kill sounds like headshot, multi kill and the on screen messages that go along with them. I'm looking now to see if I can keep it...but just turn off the player tracking. It only keeps stats for kills-deaths=efficiency anyway...not all "that" useful. Still, players like it...so...eh.
