How do I raise my max fps. I do the fps_max command and set it high, but it still stays at a low number with my new video card. Someone help =/ |

Not completely sure, but I know you might have to restart the game for it to take complete effect. |

vsync slows ya rendering down if your on a slow pc.
also, the HL1 engine allows upto 100 fps in fps_max
the HL2 engine allows upto 300 fps |

I laugh at people who keep vsync off on old games when they have a good pc.
vsync removes that tearing you get when you move. your monitor can't display all of the fps your video card dishes out when its off, why keep it off. when your monitor has a refresh rate of 85 and the video card is at 100 fps, pointless. |
