Yeah Christian Bale's voice as Batman was godawful. It made me cry. |

Don't get me wrong I liked the movie very much it just didn't live up to the hype everyone put on it. The only acting that Bale can do is when he is in the Bruce Wayne character and portraying the pompousness that that character has. As Batman its mediocre acting at best. Heath Ledger was good, just not the great like everyone is saying. There are a few actors that could have done crazy just as well if not better. |

Again, it was a great flick...just didn't live up to all the hype and Bale's voice was weird....
This (short) article describes what I felt about his voice...I just didn't like it.

Edit: I'd like to point out that my post was four days ago; this isn't any bandwagon I"m jumping on.
Hey, maybe I started this. |

it was pretty buckley-boxed the whole way throughout
Heath Ledger's joker completely shoved aside other brilliant performances in the film. His Joker is the new Brandon Lee's Crow for the hot topic kids.
'why so serious' is the new 'the cake is a lie'
They need to bring the joker back, they won't stop just because of Ledger's death. It's like having a superman flick without Lex Luthor.
But I liked the movie. |

I liked the batman voice for one reason. The reason being, movies like spiderman and batman always have the characters talking in their regular voice when in costume. It's like, how does everyone NOT recognize batman's voice when he talks in the same tone/pitch (whatever you call it). In every past batman movie I've seen his voice is the same in and out of costume, and it takes me right out of the film. This movie he actually changed his voice while as batman to make himself less recognizable, that's the way it should have been the whole friggin' time. Yes, the movie lived up to the hype. And to disagree with Chips for a second, I thought morgan freeman's role in the Dark Knight was very weak. |

chips was just pulling for him cause he was the old geezer, plus he was just mad there wasnt any multicolored BAMs and POWs on the screen whenever someone got hit |

I disagree with you Howling. Nolan did The Joker, now to bring him back in a lead villain role would drag that character out longer. A cameo would do, but without Heath playing The Joker, it would be hard to match the character for Nolan's Batman movies.
I also agree with TD, changing his voice in TDK and BB really brings a realism sense to the movies. I would easily be able to tell you who Batman was if he used the same voice as he did when he was Bruce Wayne, especially with Bruce's popularity in Gotham.
And as for Iron Man, yes it was a good movie. It was an action movie though. There really wasn't any buildup for the characters and it didn't explore the Marvel Universe in the film as Nolan's 2 Batman movies have. Iron Man also didn't have any of the psychological aspects and dual lifestyles that Bruce/Batman and The Joker have in TDK. |
