Downloaded a movie through torrents. They even named the movie title.

2nd strike, another warning.

3rd strike, service discontinued for all time.

Sons of biatches.

I'm trying to find another ISP now. One that doesn't give a s**t what I do online.

I think that could be an invasion of privacy, but I could be wrong.

How is that even possible with a distributed network like a torrent?

They have to be watching EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE you go to.... so stop looking at pr0n.

OR

Start looking at some really weird s**t to freak them out if they have someone check over your logs.

Well, if they WERE checking out all of the sites check out, then he'll see this, and see that people told him to check out weird sites, and then when he does, they won't stop following him Razz

Better that than getting a summons to appear in court to face the RIAA.

Your ISP just has to sniff a few incomming packets thqat are going into your computer and can tell if its legal stuff or not. Thats how they knew what movie it was. I would just buy movies from now on or you might end up paying out the arse in court for stuff.

RIAA is easier to avoid, you can't really do anything if your ISP is tracking it.

Btw, anyone really worried about being tracked should check out the programs Tor and its partner, Privoxy. Info at:

Cox was subpoena'd a while back, and they're still probably under scrutiny. a friend in my highschool english class got in HUUUGE trouble. 30 gigs of illegally downloaded music..

if you still want to do this, i suggest buying a wireless internet card, and pick up your neighbors unprotected wireless signal. if they give you any more s**t, get rid of the card and plead ignorance. lol

You give up most rights to Internet privacy by agreeing to the ISP Terms of Service (ToS).

You think they're tough, I block all p2p ports at the firewall to keep my 19 year old from having my ass dragged into court . . .

Might I suggest PEER GUARDIAN...... http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/ Its a P2P blocker. It blocks govt sites and all kinds of other sites that come looking to see what your doing. best of all, its free !!! Read up on it and use it.....you'll never torrent again without it running in the background.
