I just realized the pic you posted has no "security tab".
If you're using XP Pro, you need to disable simple file sharing to see that tab. Open windows explorer...select tools, folder options, view tab and make sure "use simple file sharing" is NOT selected. You'll now be able to see the security tab and see if your account has rights to that folder.
If not, check your account to permit all and apply. Should be good to go.
If you're using XP Home...you can't do this booted into windows; you'll need to do it in safe mode.

Fixed it. I ended up reinstalling the windows system files. It is a hassle, but it worked. |
