I'm a fan of ATI products...almost every computer I've owned has had ATI graphics. I'm also a fan of Intel boards and chips. There's other great stuff out there. But, I figure you can't go wrong with Intel inside as 99% of everything "should" work with little to no problems right out of the box. |

1. What VideoCard:
I'm an Nvidia Fanboy: always have been, always will be (until they screw me over). I'd go with an eVGA 8800GT, or GTX 640mb if you've got some loose change hanging around. However, an ATI product has actually beaten the 8800GT, forgot what it was.
(BTW, Options A and C are technically the same. GeForce is what Nvidia calls their series of graphics cards)
2. Motherboard.
First off, Who you going with for Processors? Intel or ATMD (ATI + AMD)?
I'd go with Intel, since AMD isn't doing so well, and Intel is Excelling. Go Core2 Duo, or go Quad-Core if you want.
Asus is THE BEST dudes to have a mobo by. MSI, Foxconn, and a few others are alright, but Asus can't be beat in my opinion.
Good luck with that
Remember: Buy from Newegg.com! |

Vote newegg.com, ATI, Intel, Asus. Watch out for power and cooling if you go with a high end video card. They consume more power and make more heat than whole computers used to.

Some of the newer motherboards are already set up for liquid cooling, including some of the Asus boards.. Just go with that...
I'm not up on the newer fans that are out, but Cooler Master and Zalman are always good ways to go for Heatsink/fan combos.
Antec makes some good quality fans.. |

Are you talking about heatsink fans or case fans? Heatsink fans you should be fin with the one that comes with which ever Vid card you get. Case fans you should be fine with stock fans or maybe add a 80mm in the back of your case for extra exhaust and removal of any stale heat in the case. People belive the more fans you have the better which isnt really true. Its all in how well you direct air flow into your computer and how well you exhaust it that works.
You should be fin with stock fans in your system. Its not like your running graffic intensive games 24 hours a day with massive heat build up in your case. Everyone thinks that their rig gets hotter than other peoples do, but they don't and thats the solid truth. |

I do that occasionally as well tiger.
Keeping the inside of your case clean and free of dust is just as important in relation to heat. I just cleaned out my case last week and the buildup of dust on the boards and the fans was quite bad. I had last cleaned it out about six months ago. This is definitely something you should do AT LEAST twice a year. |

shouldnt be that hard, i just rotate my comp every once in awhile and spray around some with my compressed air can then pick all the dust up. |

If you have "My Network Places" on your desktop, just double click on it and use the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard".
The 1394 is firewire and the local area network is usually your internal NIC and gives you access to your installed protocols and settings for that NIC.
If you have a wireless card already installed and detected the local area network may be your settings for that... |
