I see three different servers at the same IP ...
I spoke to our current host (Pat, CC's friend) who's allowed me to upload a TF2 server and Fortress Forever server to test. If we like the way they run...AND CAN PAY FOR THEM...they'll stay.
I promised him we'd run the TF2 server for a week or so before trying the FF server in addition to that. Again, if everything works out and the financial support comes through...we can have all three.
A link supplied in another thread tells me we can rent a TF2 server for around $30.00 for a 20 slot public server. I'm going to try to get all three for that same payment...or, all three for $90.00 per month.
So...get on there and show some support. Without players, there's no point in having a server. Admins should bind a key to "sm_admin" ... this will bring up a menu (accessed by hitting "escape") to admin the server. The only bug with the admin tool is that the menu only stays up for approx 4 seconds...a problem with the source engine and TF2. This will be fixed when Valve releases the SDK for the mod. |

So...the TF2 server sat pretty much dead the first day...I only saw kibbles show up. Then, I took a look last night around 1:00 AM expecting to see the same 0/22 count...but, the place was packed.
I didn't recognize anyone's name...but it was packed none the less. It would be nice to see some of the regs that wanted this showing up and playing.
You should all pretty much know by now that I'm not a huge fan of this game...it would be great to see some of our admins pop on and make sure things are in control. |

I was on yesterday around 4 or 5pm western trying to get people on, a few came in, no one I knew. There were maybe 3 or 4 people in when I left, and when I checked to see if anyone was in a few hours later it was full. I should be able to be on the server in the evenings, and on the weekends if I'm not playing something with my IRL friends.
Just curious, does anyone here prefer to have all-talk on when playing TF2? Or is there some way to have a seperate button to speak to everyone? Cause in my experiance in the game, you really need to be able to call things quickly a lot for your team to do well. |

I was in there the early evening and only some other random person showed up. I helped him learn the game, but got bored waiting. |

If you ever want me to play just PM me or get on aim and hit me up. Short of calling me, aim is the best way to contact me, I try to leave it open 24/7. I don't have a lot of you guys in my friends list either, so I don't know who's playing for the most part. |

That and X-fire. We've even got a little unofficial CfH chat room that some of us go to. |

You need at least 4 to 5 people hopping into the server if it is completely empty in order to get it going, which would be easily achievable through steam friends. Let me know where I can send donations right now towards the TF2 server. I'll be willing to put out $15 or the whole $30 for one month. |

I tried joining just now and it says, "This server is using an older protocol(13) than your client". |
