I'd double check that tiger...agp cards have a particular interface with the motherboard. If it's an agp card...your mb must be capable of running agp.
Sounds like you have a pci card |

We're talking here like we would set up a server for one of these games ONLY for the existing community.
If the server is out there, and there are at least a few players in there, it will fill up fast.
Sure the existing community provides a nice starting point, but there are lots of cool people out there. And simply having a server for one or the other would not only give our existing members a great place to play, but also attract new members.
I dunno. I'd throw my money at a TF2 server. I've no idea what a second server costs, but I'd contribute 20 or 30 bucks to get it done. |

I have a pci card and FF and TF2 runs fine, here's my specs
1gig ram
3.0 duo processor
GeForce 6200 card
some crappy motherboard which I will fix when I get real job.
I agree with Skibbles that if you put a server up it will fill up with those of us who play, and other's outside our community. Also, I think that more likely that more people in our community will get the game. I know if I was hearing about how cool this thing was and how much fun all my friends were having playing it, I'd seriously think about getting the game. |

Your looking at $40 minimum a month for a tf2 server. I'd probably be willing to pay a couple months into a tf2 server for us. |

I nominate a TF2 of course. We really should try to set-up a paypal option strickly for TF2, and see what we can work with. |

I'd definetley help pay for a TF2 server, musicains don't usually have much money, but I could save a couple bucks a day to help out. |

I nominate G to take the donations and set the server up.
He does have the experience. Our TFC server isn't going anywhere...and I'd like to concentrate on expanding FF. I expect to stay busy with these two.
I'd help out in any way necessary, but would prefer if someone else took the ball and ran with this. I have set up a server for TF2, so I could help with some stuff. |

It would be kind of hard to get the ball rolling while I'm deployed right now. In all honestly I only pay for CfH ADL's team server. Chance runs most of the server functions. |

Forgot about that.
Since we have some that showed interest in supporting a server financially...I can take donations for this server, just specify when you donate and I'll keep those funds segregated. If anyone has any ideas other than the link already provided for server hosting, I'd be willing to listen. That does look pretty good for $29.95 per month.
IF...we run this, I won't be monkeying around with spawn times like many other servers. It would be pretty stock, with good new maps and some sounds...that'll pretty much be it.
Lemme know peeps. |

i'd offer to help run/set up the server, but i don't really want to deal with the paypal/money side of it. |

I know its an old post but I HAD to vote on this one, FF has my vote. I've tried TF2 and just don't like it. I even went back and gave it a shot when a few close friends started playing and couldn't get over the feel/gameplay of the game. FF just seems tailored to true TF players whether you come from og TF (Q1) or TFC. |
