Physycists are engineers without all the nerdyness, and focus on a different subject.
Alternatively, get an English degree and get about.. 5 bucks |

English is the worst and most pointless class I have ever taken. No lie. |

The only English classes worth a damn in college would probably only even be categorized in English if your college doesn't have a writing category. Other than being an essayist, knowing how to evaluate old, crappy literature (85% of English classes) won't get you a job other than high school English teacher, and if the internet is any indication, we need more of those, but it would be the most depressing job imaginable. |

While in community college, English 102, we were still learning about commas. I was seriously trying to give myself an ulcer in that class, it drove me insane. |

Yes, I think many college professors miss the point of teaching english. Instead of burdening you down with make sure EVERY COMMA AND SEMI-COLON ARE PROPERLY PLACED, I think they should be teaching us more effective ways of COMMUNICATING with others. Who cares if that comma isnt placed exactly in the right place? More importantly, did you get the point of your essay across effectivly and efficiently.
I mean yes, knowing the basics of sentence structure is important. However, the overall message is way more important than that. I would much rather read a well conceived essay with decent sentence structure than an essay with perfect sentence structure with a horribly articulated point. |

Not to mention, I could have skipped high school because that's all we did there as well. |

Was anything in High School really all that worth while besides math and science? |

hmm weird, my college's english gen-ed. classes are all about communication and writing skills, not the grammar of it particularly. |

same here tiger, eng 101 that i'm taking now is all about writing and getting your point across. stuff like grammar is graded in papers but its not the focus of them. i think my prof talked for about 10 minutes on commas one day after being asked about it... thats it. |

I wish mine were like that. Its like the only thing my teacher cares about is how well you place commas in a sentence. |

The awesome writing classes are the advanced ones with directly applicable skills like "Critical Reviewing" and "Technical Writing". |

I don't want to hear "critically appraise" or "critically assess" or "outline and critique" one more time in my life.
I've done the advanced english subjects and they're all just BS.
English lesssons should stop in High School. |
