ok so this is my bros laptop because my 64bit comp wont take the wireless card without me dl'ing a different driver( which I found) ok so anyways he has some mad ass adware on here and its killing me. I cant Dling Ad-aware because its like a virus it reroutes some webpages to www.safteyhomepage.com or something like that. and each time I start to dl it goes to www.404dnserror.com blah blah blah I'm wondering if someone can host a Adaware program so I can dl it from an off site.  I think its the only way to get around all this crap. thx |

What you may also do, the guarenteed version, is to completely Wipe the HDD, Format it to get rid of everything, including the cookies that cause the Pop-ups.
You could also get rid of the cookies too, but it's risky, and the answer isn't obvious. |

| I use Spybot Search and Destroy and I also use Ad-Aware SE. They both are very good. Ad-Aware can be found on download.com. I don't know if Spybot can or not. |

Yeah I got around it and got my program, but the wireless net im stealing isnt strong enough to keep a constant connection for me to dl 25 mb for a driver I need  |

| I do use Firefox on my comp but this isnt my comp lol. I would be on my comp if the stupid company would have included a 64bit driver for my wireless card D: So I have to dl one I found and know that works but cant because of lack of line strength |

ARGH WHY ARE COMPUTER NOOBS SOO PARANOID ABOUT COOKIES! DO YOU KNOW WHAT A COOKIE REALLY IS?
its a small text file thats saved in your browsers temporary files that helps a website identify you the next time you visit it. this forum uses a cookie that stores your username and pw(encrypted though) that the forum reads and automatically keeps you logged in. almost every website you visit uses cookies in a similar way.

I found a new program that cleamed up alot of stuff that Ad-Aware and SpyBot didnt pick up.

I was told about it by my bud and he told me to use it as i was fighting a nasty spyware/adware/trojan thing myself. This program takes a few hours to complete but it picked up 40 things that Ad-Aware and Spybot didnt and basically saved my ass. I highly recommend it.  |
