I just had a few suggestions for the new forum style that might be a bit helpful.
1. maybe get a New Topic button located at the top so you dont have to scroll all the way down when you want to start one?
2. Maybe add the ability to jump to a different page on the top of the topic/forum so again you dont have to scroll all the way down?
3. and finally maybe add links to the main section of the forums and a link to that section of the forums to the top of the page as well?
Just a couple of small suggestions that make browsing these forums a little bit easier. |

After Nirv sent this to me and I installed it...it became instantly apparent to me that this template is laid out and structured in a COMPLETELY different way from the other seven styles. In adding the link to the web site in the top graphic and adding the quick reply box...I had to figure out how to do that as the method is not the same as the other sytles. The code for the quick reply that I use on all the other styles...was WAAAAY off on this one. I have to play with it to get the column size right and stuff.
CC's right...all the controls we're used to seeing at the top AND bottom of the other styles...are simply on the bottom with this one. Took me a while to get used to it personally. While I could "probably" do all that...I really don't have the expertiese and would have to learn by trial and error. I pretty much know how to install them and do some "basic" editing.
A reminder to all that I made Nirv's style the forums "default" style... but YOU'RE FREE TO USE ANY STYLE YOU CHOOSE. Go in your profile and check out any of the other 7 available. I wonder if Jarrett is still using the Christmas one...he said he was going to after I dropped it as the forum default during the holidays. |

i dont like that style, its similar to the one at C2 carclub forum http://fuzzywarrior.com/
it feels like im being limited to such a narrow space and the empty space on the sides is worse on the widescreen in my laptop. |

Yeah...I have a widescreen laptop also...haven't seen it on there yet. But, I can imagine. Are all the Xfire logos not working.
As I've stated previously...you're free to use any of the 8 styles currently available. You don't HAVE to use the new one. |

I looked at the template briefly last night..
It is also doing it with the subSilver (default) template here. Is bbcode & allow signatures by chance enabled in forum admin - configuration? Is there a fast reply mod Chips?
With the template so far - I replaced 150+ instances in several files of the fixed 717 width to 100% to allow the stretch for people viewing at 1024 x768 & up.
Added buttons to the top similiar to the subSilver template. See what you think - if it's too many buttons/links now.
Fixed the bottom link of the profile page with the words Appalachia in it??- which I see this one is fixed already... mine wasn't - ...
Revised template so far-download
I need the fast reply mod code if there is one
Hope this helps.. my fav guild |

with the wide one you need to move the bottom buttons over, they look funny where they are |

I appreciate DoVe's efforts...but I really don't like this one wide. I found a mod for phpbb that should stretch or shrink any page to a users availabe screen size. That should pretty much work for any of our current styles...no matter what resolution a user has their machine set to.
I'm going to use her code to patch up the current one Nirv made...and I'm still looking for why images that are also links...are not working. That's what I need help identifying. |
