a little late....but incase anyone has the "'You have been disconnected from the server. Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket' when I try to connect to a server" error in the future the fix is deleting these 3 files:
Steam.dll
SteamUI.dll
ClientRegistry.Blob
........from the steam directory, then when you restart steam it will perform a small update to download these files correctly and your done. |

Deleting ClientRegistry.Blob is a fairly common cure for many steam problems...including the "ticket" matter. That's the only one you should "have" to delete. |

I bet Steam DOES have some dead files
Just for the sake of creating errors |
