i notice ( and when i say this i mean that it pisses me off more than W.) that anti-spamming measures have been taken for server chat ... are these really neccesary? i mean i type alot even when i do have my mic working, and more than half of the stuff i type doesnt even make it through to the server... absolutely pisses me off. Would it be possible for a trial change set to where it just boots you are gags you for X seconds after a certain number of repeats?

To be honest...I'm fairly sure the plug-in that controls text spamming of any kind was turned off long ago. It was set pretty low and just kept kicking everybody. There's no spam protection of any kind on there...that's why we get complaints about spammers. You guys chat too much...you should kill more. Laughing

It's kinda like the lag you get in HLTV when typing. It really only happens if you try to type in two things quickly. Use longer sentences. Razz

... it must be me when i type messages and absolutely nothing comes up on screen or in the console and i end up having to retype it until it does come up onscreen or in console

It happens to me every now and then, but I get it on every server. When we did have a spam filter, fast typers got kicked.

Yeah it does happen to me. I type in short, broken sentences and it pisses me off so i just stop talking.

i do the same thing but when i make a typo and go to fix it nothing comes up

but, i found out that if you type say "blarg", and then type "blarag*" apparently that litle asterik makes the non-existant spam filter just that

if that made any sense to anyone but me....

does it to me, pisses me off to no end. i can hardly have a conversation w/o using the mic... which i hate.

whats stupid is the wait time filter that is there for text isnt there for sounds, so someone spamming text will only get one showing up every few seconds but if someone spams sounds, every single one of them goes through. always wondered seeing as how the sounds are whats annoying not the text as much.

that shows that its that your text is actually going to the server, but the server isn't printing it.

i know that fly, but my point was about the sounds ALWAYS going through when text doesnt.

the thing that pisses me off is when i try to type something right after death. it gets canceled out EVERY time, theres like a 5 second wait after a person dies to talk and its annoying as ****.
