Sorry that this is a TFC forum (I installed TFC before CS:S so dont worry) But everytime I click on CSS it "starts up" and before it gets to the first screen, it brings me back down to the desktop....
I've run CSS on my computer with a GeForce2... same processor speed, everything and i Just updated my card to a Radeon 9800 pro.
AMD Anthlon - 850 MHz
512 MB mem
Radeon 9800 AGP 128.0 MB... 32 bit.
any help? btw, logging on tfc as i type this. |

I read something somewhere on the steam forums about adding a parameter to your tfc shortcut...that allows it to start in whatever video mode required...D3D, Software or OpenGL.
If I had the time I'd take a peek...but I know I saw it there. Do a quick search on the steam forums. |

try reinstalling all hl2 apps, right click em and hit "Delete local content" or sumthin like that
i'd think that would fix your problem in bold, maybe a bad update or sumthin.....
otherwise i dunno |

It couldn't hurt to verify your game files. Also, look into my suggestion of find the value to add to the games shortcut to allow you to start it in whatever video mode you choose. |

I did. I've been doing everything I could. COuld it just be my processor? 850 MHz is way under the requirement. |

But, I've played CSS and HL2 perfectly fine with NO lag (not serious lag, less than the fun house hahaha) with my 850MHz processor with a GForce 2 card. ?? |
