Get an optical mouse.

I've had to clean the wheel sensors in my old ball mice so many times!

This optical mouse (Logitech M/N M-BJ58, 20$ at BEST BUY) has lasted without maintenance for 2 1/2 years!

I would recommend the logitech mx518, quite an excellent mouse, or a cheaper alternative would be the mx510 (if it isstill sold).

Yeah...what Gill said. I have the same mouse. Relatively inexpensive and dependable. 5 buttons makes all the difference. Good Idea

Also, I doubt very much what you're experienceing is due to your hardware (mouse)...sounds more like a config problem honestly.

I've had a problem where every once in a while, the mouse would spaz. Like I'd be at well, and move slightly and BAM im staring at the sky. It not just for TFC either. I bought a brand new mouse and still no better Sad.

spider: it is an opticalm i've had an optical since i got this hunka junk 2 or 3 years ago, i have a back up trackball that works just fine though...
(by hunka junk, i mean my entire pc, not the mouse)
my current mouse is: http://us.kensington.com/html/4005.html if that link worked..bizz has the same mouse and has no problems, so it very well could be my pos momboard that's the problem...
before the kensington, i had a fellowes(kmart brand) and it worked fine until a few months ago...thus the name in tfc("mouse troubles"), so far the only problem with my current mouse, is tha the usb connector doesnt work, and mouse3 doesnt work for some reason...other than that...

as to any and all mouse suggestions: no job = me = no money = no new mouse = kensington at circuit city cuz of gift card = i have to deal for now...i guess

Make sure you are using the mouse on a clean surface, because inconsistancies cause it to go manic.

If all else fails, try and make it so you cannot use it through no fault of your own and go with the warranty Razz

As a last resort...you may want to check your mouse setting in windows. It "could" have an effect on such things as gaming configs.

Dude, if you want REAL PZOWNAGE, go and get the

LOGITECH
G5
or
G7

Laser mice (not optical or Ball), Resolution Changing Buttons, a wheel, 6 buttons, Made by Logitech, 2000 DPI Max (!), Used by the Pros, The List goes on and on.

the G5 is Wired, but comes with a weight set
G7 is Wireless, comes with a little charging for one of it's 2 included batteries, a battery meter, and it's totally cool.

If you're in for a new Keyboard, get the G15, I've got it! 54 G-Keys, on the fly Macro Creation Button, back lit, Laser Etched Keys, an LCD for just about everything (has Performance Monitor, clock, MP3 Information, and more), a Mute Button for Speakers or Headphones, a switch to turn off that psky little WINDOWS key, 2 additional ports for USB devices, wrist pad, everything a normal Keyboard has, Quiet Keys, and it actually inproves efficience of the user (I've noticed it myself).

WHEW! I just wrote a lot. I just REALLY LOVE the new Series.
Check it out.

I've heard some horrible reviews for lazer mice....atleast the first generations, I assume they may have fixed these problems now.

Wow Corr you are behind the times ....

I personally would reccomend Logitech mx310 ... 4 buttons + it fits quite well if you happen to have large hands.

btw isnt that gaming Keyboard like 70$ or some outrageous price? was thinking about possibly getting one in the spring since my current keyboard has the "wsad" keys have their letters completely worn off and so much use that the keys are starting to catch when im typing / playing.

Because I refuse to have anything to do with lazer mice?

I buy into technology once it has proven itself......but I admit...my view has been tainted with my bad experiences with logitech lazer mice.

Besides, I'm quite content with my mx518, which as served me well Good Idea .
