I've decided to take up C++.
My point is, RedFox was working on a TFC port for omnibot, but has been MIA for more than a year. I have inherited his unfinished TFC interface from Dr. evil, and my goal is to complete it.
If anyone knows of a good C++ tutorial to get me started that would be a big help.
First, I need enough of a grasp of C++ to make a simple program like a starscape. That would give me enough knowledge of C++ to port OB to TFC.
I will still be waypointing FB until I have a made working TFC interface for OB. At that point, I will goad chips into diching foxbot for Omni-bot, and will be waypointing TFC maps for OB. Valve maps first of corse, then maps in chips rotation. After that it will be either be requst, or map i want to do for the heck of it.
I am an advanced QBasic programmer, I have made a 2 player tetris clone (I'm working on a A.I. to play against), and have unfinished partially working Mario and Zelda clones with it along with map editors for both (my textures are bad, just waiting for an artist to help make tiles and such). I've also been offered cash by a group of artists for a scripted (you can input your own .bmps to it) animation program I've been working on.
Wish me luck! |
