About the only other game that is in the same genre as TFC that I like would be this one. I really enjoy the Desert Combat and Eve of Destruction mods also.

Anyone else here play these or other mods? I hear the Vietnam one is rather good after a shaky start. I've haven't tried it yet...but definitely want to give that one a go also.

Don't have EoD, but I play 1942 and DC. Love 'em both. Also play Vietnam (The intial 1.0 release really was so buggy, unbalanced multiplay, and ridiculously stupid AI.) I also play the Vietnam WWII mod. Which is like 1942, but with Vietnam gfx stuff, so foilage looks GREAT. Chips I hope you win the lottery so there can be CS:S, BF, and lots of TFC servers all for -[CfH]-.

I play bf1942 alot. Im real good at it. Ive played vietnam, eod, and dc. There all good. I would recomend vietnam the graphics quality is not as good as 1942.
If you get a chance try the Forgotten Hope mod, Its a realism mod for 1942. its great and its a whole 2GB.

A year ago when I got a new 120 gig drive, I made a 20 gig partition for games. I thought that would be plenty. I'm older than most here and only play a few games other that HL and HL source types.

Since steam and my server installs now take up approximately 13 gigs, I've run out of room fast. I don't have the room to install that unless I get rid of one or more of my flight sim type games...which I also love. Sad

That partition can be fixed rite? Its well worth it. If you like to learn about ww2 and if you have a good enough machine its well worth it. I guarantee you will be hooked and will quit tfc for a cpl of weeks. Trust me I thought nothing could part me from cs. This is a really good game and well worth the space.

But if you are concerned about space... Theres three installers. You must install each of them in order, but once u installed it you can delete it cause if you keep the installers on the hard drive or whereever its a gig just sitting there. Thats why i keep all my mod dls on a disk. Wink

Yes...I can increase the partition size. But that would take away from a large space I keep for video editing; a passion and a part time business of mine. I record uncompressed video to my drive before editing and compressing...I'm a quality freak. Cool

Drives are getting cheap enough to just go out and buy one of those 250 giggers...that should do the trick. Good Idea

I tried to play BFV but when i did play my machine was not up to par with what was needed so i kindda lost intrest in it. i do know of a few that do play it and it did look real good from what i could make out with my old crappy Vid card.
