The second time is very, very difficult. You can try blocking a few of the entrances with some of the barrels, and get those guys with xbow/magnum. They don't start coming untill the final turret has been set. |
they actually do, they are on a timer that starts once you open the second forcefield
however, I can try blocking the doors, then opening the forcefields... |

I actually set those auto-guns up in the small hallway they were stored in...and then hid in the storage space itself while the guns defended my protected position. I had to venture out a couple of times to set the guns back up...but they were so close to me, I could do it quickly.
Took some nasty damage...but got through it on the second try... |

I set the guns up in one of the cell blocks where there was an open and dark cell. I stood my guard and used the room for cover --- kind of like cowering in the corner --- and fought off the attackers as they came rushing into the area. Sometimes I would get lucky and take a few out with a grenade, but most of the time the shotgun was the weapon of choice.
Good luck and remember to reload.

looking for any suggestions:
i'm currently in the path place after making it to black mesa east and being seperated from the others. i've gotten a decent distance, i've seen that guy thats helps me a few times, but i've gotten to this part after killing a bunch of aliens where i have 4 barrels but can't seem to get them to stand so i can make it anywhere... anyone know and easy way to stack them or have an idea how to to get anywhere? i think i see where to go... but for the life of me i can't get them stacked so i can get on them...(i've wasted a good amount of time trying to do this...) |

hehe... i was looking the wrong way - didn't need to stack things at all.
anyways i'm now at the beginning of anticitizen one. how much further do i have?
and i sorta used RiP's idea for the sentries - i set up all 3 on one side(1 facing each entrance, one closer to the room, after 3) and would run out and put them back up as they fell down. i used the shotgun only - never ran out of ammo, sentries did most of the work. (this is after my first unsuccessful attempt at defending the room where the sentries were found) |

i beat the game a while ago. it took me about two days of non stop play to beat. it was worth it though. the ending was stupid though. i didnt get what the guy said in the end, he used to big of words for me. all i know is he freaks me out. just the way he talks
that revenholm part scared the crap out of me. the crazy guys that run after you and climb up walls o man. and those stupid infected spiders that hurt you down to one health good god. all in all i though the game kicked ass. i liked the spiders that you could control. i would just send them in front of all the guns instead of me. |

ok... i'm near the end(haven't played in a while) where i just destroyed the 3 generators and went out and destroyed the huge mechanical spider thingys, and am in the middle of that courtyard infront of the museum and for the life of me cannot figure out where to go... i'm probably missing something but after 20 minutes of looking i have no clue. |

Awesome game, I agree the ending was a little weak, but it was supposed to be a cliff hanger anyway so.. Amazing level design and cinematics throughout the entire game, I was blown away.
There were actually a few parts of the game that got my heart beat up a little, that kinda freaked me out. Haven't had that happen since CS clan matches like 40 years ago.. |

I beat it, and am waiting for the upcoming episode, HL2: Aftermath.
Here is my favorite screenshot from the game, I stacked up spare weapons form the Library where you take out the 3 generators into the room where barney frees the hostages by killing the forceshield. Some weapons I did bring with my, I had been dinking aroud collecting ang moving them with the G-Gun for a while. Well, I found out after so many phisics props are touching they become magnetic, and you can clip into them. I pushed a rebel into them and snaped the shot:

Funny thing to do: Go to where You and Alex 'rescued' her father and are about to teleport out. Set up a Turret facing where you step into the teleporter. Needless to say the Level will break, you won't be able to continue, and Alex will give you the cold sholder. But go try it! |
