It apparently was a scan, but nothing youd really know about beforehand unless you looked it up. It was an autoscan that happens whenever norton updates, which i had no idea when that was so it never occured to me. Only way to stop it is to disable the autoscan. To do that you go to the settings tab and scroll down to Virus and Spyware Protection Options, LiveUpdate General Settings tab, uncheck the box for Run Quick Scan whenever protection updates have been received. Simple but i actually never saw the virus and spyware tab to begin with lol.

I forgot that Norton did that after an update...which are quite frequent. To be honest, that is why I let NOTHING on my machine update itself. First off, I want to know what it's updating. I can't tell you how many windows updates I've "hidden" on the windows update site cause they don't pertain to me. Besides, I don't want any of this stuff going off by itself when I"m gaming, video editing or doing anything that needs max resources.
