I am about to build another Linux box and was wondering if anyone has a flavor of Linux they like?

I have tried:
Redhat & Fedora Core but it was too cpu intensive for the low resource box I put it on --> as soon as I had to upgrade to Fedora since they no longer support Redhat. I'd be open to try it again though, and this is a better box.

Mandrake - was ok
Suse - presently using
Knoppix - um yeah..
Gentoo - couldn't get it to go

Thanks

We don't have many Linux heads around here Dove...just going from past conversations on the topic.

I did however, know Gill would post. Very Happy

I remember using and liking Debian at one time. You might want to try it out.

this is definatly the most barebones you can get, and it still looks great. you can run a tfc server with this completely on a DVD-RW

The small linux looks interesting & fun for a quick OS, similiar to Knoppix. A great way to try linux.

I'll read up on Debian

Thanks for the input...

Very Happy

Yeah a bit late but Ubuntu is another good distro (based off Debian, so uses some of the same packages and no RPM crap)
