Hm. Weird... everytime I play FEAR, it restarts my computer.. been doing it a lot today. And when im sending "client info" to a server on CSS, it drops me saying hl2.exe had a problem.

2 things could be it(restarting during FEAR): your power source(a problem my friend had), or you're overheating. |

Sounds like a Software problem
What I would do,
is uninstall windows.
But nice rig,
But that Vid-card needs to be upped
7800Gt is getting to that point. |

lol.
Im guessing it was overheating. I put another fan in there since it can support like 8 billion and took my printer off of it (shh). Seems to work.
It definately wasnt the software cause i've reinstalled it 5 times.
What vid card would you guys recommend? I woudl take out my ATI 9800 pro and put it in but it wont support it. |

star, its not a software problem. FEAR is so intense on most people's computers i've heard many stories of computers shutting off while playing it.
if you put another fan in and its working, it probably was overheating.
as for vid cards, i dunno, i personally like NVidia better than ATI. Stuff on the NVidia GeForce 7000+ line should be plenty. I personally use the 7300(which is a cheaper, underclocked version of the 7600, i believe). |

I use the 7600 GT and I can get FEAR to run decently on mine, and I also have 1.5 GB of ram to help it along too. But yeah, it's not software causing the problem. |

FEAR runs so damn smoothly. When it was loading between intervals, I used to be able to take a s**t and make a sandwhich before it was loaded...now I cant even walk upstairs before it's done. |
