Ok, I know a few have heard me bitching about this in game, but it's getting to the point where I can't play.
The problem is the mouse and keyboard. It only happens in TFC (maybe all of steam, I dont play many other steam games.) I will be hitting a button, like W, then take my finger off of it. Instead of stopping, I continue to move forward for a bit. Worse is the mouse, where it either wont register me moving it, or it will move late, like a second after. Every aspect of play is affected and it sucks.
So, if you know anything that could help, please let me know. For better understanding:
1. I've gone to the steam help site, nothing has worked.
2. Its a USB keyboard and mouse, when I used the PS slot for the mouse, no difference. (Laser mouse, wired)
3. Other games are fine, so I dont think its a driver or anything.
Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advanced. |

Keyboard getting worn down?
When it gets unclean, or just gets to that time
It will do things like that.
Mouse, that's a trickier prob.
What's your mouse Model?
Perhaps you got a faulty one, where it's signal sags, even if it's wired.
Maybe it's about the sensor, if it only senses movement over certain areas.
Other then that, anyone else have any ideas? |

I had a similar problem recently. It first showed up in TFC but quickly spread to all computer use. Didn't really effect my keyboard but my mouse was really malfunctioning. I had a microsoft optical mouse and the sensor would cut off and on. Got so I couldn't play. Replaced the mouse and the whole problem was fixed. Since the mouse and keyboard uses the same drivers, might be a similar problem. |

Does other in game action lag? Shooting for instance...beeps when using nades and concs?
Merely sounds like a lag issue....rates and such. |

I've been lurking on the steam forums. Seems something with the Oct. 25 update and Nvidia.
Some solutions before Steam fixes it include setting HL.exe to low priority (wtf) and recording a demo as I play.
I know it's not lag, cause when I freeze up, nothing else does. That rocket I was trying to dodge still hits me in the forehead.
I need a semi-full server to test the solutions, so get your butts on tonight. |
