Gears of War comes out today  .I will be picking this up. I will post comments on general game play, controls, story, and the look and feel of the game in the morning.
BTW only people that had the game "preordered" will be getting it today. Others will have to wait untill the 12th..

a kid in my college classes that has become my friend has been lookin forward to this game since they first ever advertised it... he even went and bought a huge flat screen hi-def tv just for this game 
it does look amazing tho 
i would def have got it... if only i had a 360 
now for sumthin IM lookin forward to... the Wii and the new zelda game |

OK..1st off please dont make my thread into a Wii discussion..AGAIN..(my xbox360 thread).. 
Gears of War..This game is BEAUTIFUL.
Its kinda like Halo meets Doom..with a side of G.R.A.W..And then they beefed the Graphics up....WAY UP!
The facial expessions are just awsome. You know if your guy is p!$$ed or if hes cutting up. If you have had the chance to see fight night R3 then you can get a idea of the detail. The enviroments are just beautiful to look at. A lot of time went into the detail. The look of the game is a 10 all the way!
The controls take a few mins to warm up to. But do not hamper you at all. I would give controls a 8.5
You can do what is called a "rody run" this is really cool. Have you ever watched the TV show "Cops"? well you know how it looks when the camra guy is running behind the officer? that is what the rody run looks like. its very reallistic. I was quick to learn you DO NOT use rambo tactics because you WILL die. You have to use cover and you have to use "flanking" tactics. Even the weaker locusts will take massive damage before going down. Your main gun the "Lancer assault rifle(big machine gun)has a uniqe Bayonet..Its a FREAKIN CHAINSAW  lol..The first time you rip into a Locust with this bad boy will make you giggle like a school girl ....The blood, oh my the beautiful gory blood...

and the first small pic is a good shot of the lancer(machine gun)
The story of the game thus far has been great. I hate games with weak plots. The game so far has a 9.5 for story.
Im guessing im about halfway through the game now...mabey..But unless it has some kind of massive let down at the end, Im gonna give this baby a 10  |
