Hmmm... Coming in late in this discussion, im about to ruin the topic by posting my favorites in the middle of it all.
Practically all the FF games I love, especially 9. Not too many people gave it the credit it deserved because it went back to the whole kingdom kind of fantasy whereas people still wanted the futuristic like settings of FF7 and 8...
I also liked Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross; I liked Cross more however. Great visuals, very interesting combat system, plethora of party members to recruit; very nice over all.
And the Lunar series is also a favorite. Not much to say other than the fact that it reminds me of old school SNES RPGs like Secret of Mana and old FF games...
Played D2 for a very long time when it came out. Didn't play online since I didn't have internet at home yet. Currently waiting for any announcement from Blizzard for a Diablo 3...

I would love it if they took Mother 1 and 2(Mother 2 is Earthbound in the U.S.) and released them in a gameboy game or something. That would just completely make my year. |

| lol I remember that one too. I first played it on a snes emulator and liked it so much that I bought it, I should go hook up my super nintendo and go play it.... |
