No what i was trying to say was the case/computer that I am going to be using is a quad xeon server and it has a server specific Memory card that plugs into one of its card slots that has 16 memory slots in it. So like I said if there was something that I can find to make it compatible with the mobo that I will be using then it would be nuts.

And yea the computer comes with 3 power supplies already installed in it, with hot swap option on it so you can remove any one of the power supplies while the machine is running and it wont mess anything up. Very Happy Good Idea

For the Vid cards I belive we settled on the ATI X1900 Crossfire editions Good Idea
Im going top of the line no matter the price. Very Happy

And water cooling Bad Idea Everyone and their mother has done water cooling for their Xtreme machines they build. I want to be different I want the cover of all the computer gamming machine magazines. I dont follow conventional thinking when i build something let alone follow the rest of the crowd. Very Happy

Good luck with the build, but i'm telling you now, very soon directx 10 cards will become available (some are available already) and come november or early next year, your cards will become useless for new games.

With that machine I have a feeling you could be running a source game, tfc, photoshop, vegas, and still have enough power left to be lag free

*drools* Why can't I ever get anything like this? When I get a job. When I get a job.

Hey American Boy, Ever read the book "The little train that thought it could"?

Anyway, from the sound of it, it seems like you're setting up a personal server computer!
Cool!
You've got a lot of nice features.
Some, I've never heard of.

But don't worry about the Dx10 thing.
Your computer will still be able to run DX10 programs.
And Vista.
Weird name, Vista..................................................

And I have to agree with your thinking on WAter-cooling.
Why DOES everyone have it?
Why not try to get some of those Hydrogen-cooling devices?

Especially
oh, BTW, if you wanted all-out top-of-the-line video card, you would want to go with NVidia's 7900 GTX, or their Uber 7950 Gx2.
FYI, but their a bit too pricey for their performance (except for the 7950)

Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea Good Idea man.

The Nvidea cards wont work for what i want to do. I want to run duel video cards and ATI is the only option for this. Yea I know Nvidea has the option to run duel cards but they have to be the same cards to do it. While ATI has the Crossfire option with their cards and they dont have to be the same cards to work together, so down the road when a better ATI card comes out I can get that and still have it work with one of my older cards and it wont be a problem. You dont have that option with Nvidea cards, plus Nvidea cards= Bad Idea lol.wav

ACtually, ATI's Crossfire is shown to be less effective then NVidia's SLI, even when the cards are inequal, favoring ATI. Meaning, SLI is better with cards that are lower then ATI's.

However, SLI DOES require 2 identical cards, which can be a hassle. Yet, Nvidia does provide higher-end cards, has a large assortment of cards and suppliers, including 3 premeire companies (eVGA, BFG, MSI). Also, they do have a technological edge.

However, the choice is all up to you.
ATI is cheaper though.

couple o things. 1.) Try to get the core duo extreme edition (ie, the 2.93ghz intel with the codenamed conroe dual core processor), it's the best processor money can buy atm.

2.) SLI doesn't always mean double Razz, could go quad if you DARE

Ooooh, Intel's new Core Duo Extreme Edition is the NEW best on the market.
However, if it's better then AMd's FX62 can be disputed

(personally, I don't give a darn, I can afford either)

and Wahoo, Quad SLI is still in Beta Stages, HIGHLY UNSTABLE.
But it's a good place to start!
7950GX2 x2 may be possible soon!

But be weery, ATI's got their new X1950 coming out.
Double-Decker also, looks like it may beat the 7950.....

Lots of stuff coming out, be prepared.
Neutral
