Since I updated Winblows XP today, every time I enter the CfH homepage, I get this error....
"Click to run an Active X control on this webpage" And, if thats not bad enough, I have to click out of it 4 times. Can anyone gimme a hint WTF is wrong?
As always, if you choose to accept this assignment and get caught, we will disavow any knowlegde of your existance. Laughing

I do use Firefox for certain websites, but I have always used IE for CfH.....and yes, it only started yesterday after I updated Internet Explorer. Welp, anyone else?

I just updated my windows...and I'm not getting this error...um, not that it's actually even an error Rolling Eyes

Got to tools>internet options> and click the security tab.
Select "internet" and check your axtive X settings. One or more of them is causing this. Not that there's a problem actually...you have IE set to prompt you for active X controls...not the worst thing in the world. Somewhat annoying yes, but it still helps to ensure you're not running active X controls that could hurt ya.

You could go a step further and put our web site in the "trusted sites" on that same security tab. Set up your trusted sites to allow all active X activity...that is afterall, why you trust them. Laughing

Ahhhh Chipster, that was indeed the problem. Dunno wtf happened, because that prompt never came up before. As for the Winblows update, I went in manually and looked for the hidden d/l's, or should I say, the non critical ones. My IE has been acting up lately, so I figured something was amiss.....and thats when the problem started.
Thankie indeed Chips. Good Idea Good Idea

BTW, I had gone to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS.....problem was, I went in to the ADVANCED tab, not security. Surprised

Nah...it's the server monitor that requires the active X control. The sounds are no big deal...I like em. Razz
