I just saw an updated post(with a link to another thread).....about HLSS.

What is HLSS?

I have been wanting to bind a key to play a 2 second soundfile...I even posted about this on the Steam Forums, and got no answers.

From what I read in that thread, people know how to do this....

I occasionally use Voice_loopback 1, especially when recording demos(this puts my voice in there)....

Would someone mind telling me how to bind a key to play a 2 second clip?
(It's non racist, and I won't be spamming it...it's a sound alert).

HLSS is the Half Life Sound Selector. It allows people to play sound as if it was through the mic.

Here is the tutorial I used, very helpful. Just remember to do it in TFC instead of CS.

Is there an easier way?
Like, to just bind a key to play it?

HLSS is a program that is running in the backround. You designate a key to the wav file that you want then you bind a key to activate HLSS when its activated you press the corisponding key for the wav file you want and it plays it. Its really simple to do the hardest part is converting the sound files you want into the right format like the wav. The only thing is you said you have all of your keys already bound so you might have to free a few of them to do it.
