Also seems like the kind of thing that could likely happen as the result of a total accident. Only way to know if it did happen would be to check STEAM_IDs.
Bad thing that could happen here is someone can make an excuse for bad behaviour saying this happened. |

Well, basicly what happens:
People are on the server. Someone leaves, someone else comes in, and due to a glitch, get's the person who just left's steam ID....as well as any/all admin abilities.
I'd say it's a pretty nasty problem.
There actually have been problems on Drippys. Several people(including me) have had names pop up on the stats page, that were never used by the person. At least one person has gotten a ban out of it, when the person who "got their ID", became an asshole. Drippy was able to sort it out, so no real harm done.
My best suggestions: For yourself, don't be an ass. And use your own custom binds in game.
For others, keep an eye out for anyone who is not playing(or even talking) like they normally do, especially if it's an unfamiliar name. I know Chips doesn't use steam IDs for stat-tracking, but keep an eye out for this kind of thing. |
