I was wondering if anyone knew about any free converters that are out there. I have a DVD drive, but cant watch any DVDs. Besides, I want to pull a bunch of sounds from a movie I got.
Thanks.

Do you just need a media player?

I use Zoom Player with DivX codecs(don't use the divx player... its horrible). If for some reason i can't get zplayer to handle it, then Media Player Classic also works wonders.
If this isn't what your asking about... then ignore me.

I just need something that can read VOB files or whatever the DVD files are called.

Good call Fly...I still use the old WMP 6.4 to play files it's capable of playing. MUCH less overhead than wmp 10.

However...WMP 10 plays DVD movies just fine if you have a decoder installed, and it's part of windows. I personally prefer Power DVD for viewing on a PC.

I'd find it hard to believe your drive didn't come with software of some kind to view DVD's. If you don't have a decoder...this place seems to offer free players of varying kinds that will do the job.

The players from that site may very well not work...I've never tried them. But, they apparently installed the necessary decoder software so you can view DVD's in a player that works. Good Idea
