One of my fav moments was one of the first times I ever played with Toughsox. He's maybe forgotten it, but I never will. I'm reminded of it again cause of his post above. Every time I see a post of his, either here or at Keegs, I think of it.
The map was Badlands. He was playing his usual HW and suggested I do the same. I spent the rest of the 30 minutes following him around like his shadow...learning what I could, and getting us both in heeps of trouble cause I had no idea what I was doing.
It was that round that gave me the feeling that I might stick with this game and get better at it. Especially if a player of his caliber was willing to spend a dime on me...and help me become a better player. The next round, I played engie on Well. He taught me to build a dispenser in the path of grenades from the front door to my gun to help protect it...and other little tricks.
I learned some that night and wasn't immediately a better player...but there was hope... |

I had fun last night on congestus a couple times when i managed to defend the flag from both weetweet and transient at the same time... then they learned how to get past me and totally started to beat me bad... but it was fun for the time being.
i still have the most fun on ksour/palermo doing those huge rocket/pipe jumps from so far away and just blowing past everyone. Its great to see "The gate is now open." and .2 seconds later "You captured command point 1" |
